The VMS unit of the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources monitored the illegal fishing activities such as the continuous violation of the border by the multi-day fishing vessels that went to the high seas for fishing. The employment has been suspended for three months. Regarding this, the representatives of Multi-Day Fishing Vessel Owners’ Association held a special discussion on 04.09.2023 when they met the Minister of Fisheries Mr. Douglas Devananda at the Ministry of Fisheries.
