The main function of the Division is to conserve and manage
the fish resources in sustainable manar in the Exclusive Economic
Zone of marine waters and in inland waters.

Drafting and updating fishery laws and regulations
Registration of fishing craft
Renewal of registration certificates
Issue of operational licenses
Awareness programmes on Fisheries Management
Issue of aquaculture management licenses
Issue of fish landing permits for foreign vessels
Issue of export permits for live ornamental fish
Issue of transport permits for chanks and lobsters
