The core function of this Division is to introduce new technology and to provide institutional strengthening support to the fishing community and fisheries co-operative societies.

Registration of boatyards, suppliers of marine engines, navigational & communication equipment and fishing gear manufacturers & importers

Approval of boat designs and prices

Coordination of community development activities

Coordinating of granting of relief to the fishermen who are in distress due to terrorist activities

Conducting awareness building programmes for boat owners and crew members

Review of the recovery of Bank loans issued through coops

Coordination of fisheries insurance scheme

Implementation, monitoring and coordination of fisheries co-operative societies and Idiwara Banks

Training for coop Boards of Directors and employees, fisher women, fisheries officials
